Mckinley Morganfield was born in Rolling Fork, Mississippi on this day in 1915. If it weren’t for his great blues guitar and harmonica playing and great writing we may never have heard of the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton and several of the other great rock acts of toady.

In 1918 after the death of his mother, NcKinley is brought up by his grandmother on the Stovall Plantation, Clarksdale, Mississippi. He later changed his name to Muddy Waters and the rest is history.
